You can email Majica with any questions. Here is the welcome email. I will send it out again with any updates 2 weeks prior to the workshop.

Dearest Dancer,

Soon we will gather together for Cycles with Laura Martin-Eagle. I'd like to make sure that you have everything you need to get you here and settled into the workshop. Please take a careful look at all of the sections of this email as it is full of useful information for our time together. If I've missed anything, please send me an email (majicasonrisa@gmail.com) or text (916-835-9034) and ask.

It is our intention to create a space where each of us is able to be as fully present as possible. If you have any special needs on the dance floor that you would like us to be aware of, please email or tell Majica when you arrive. While we may not always be able to meet all of them to the letter, we want to know what you are dealing with and how best to support you.

A few items to note as we head into our weekend together:

Arrival/Departure times: Our time together is very precious and we are requesting that you plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before each session to give you time to park, settle in and find yourself on the floor in time for the start of the warm-up. The doors will open 20 minutes before the posted start time each day and the music will start ten minutes before the posted start time. If you already know that you plan to arrive late on any day during the time we're together, please let us know in advance.

Session hours:

Wednesday  September 10th  10-5:30pm

Thursday  September 11th  10-5:30pm

Friday  September 12th  10-5:30pm

Saturday September 13th 10-5:30pm (Optional group potluck at Bella’s at 6pm)

Sunday September 14th 10-4pm

Provisions: We are requesting that you bring your own water bottle to the sessions. Water is available in a fountain in the foyer. For the breaks each day we will provide the following:

  • Fresh fruit

  • Sweet Treat

  • Trail mix

If you need anything else to sustain you during the workshop, please bring it with you.

What to wear: Please be prepared to dance barefoot or with dance shoes. No street shoes please. You will want to dress in layers that can be removed as the dancing warms up, or if we sit for a while. Please consider your jewelry as you want to be able to move freely and with ease.

What to bring to CYCLES: Please bring a journal and pen. You might like a light layer or cushion to sit on. Start looking at and gathering photos of you as a child and throughout your life. Bring your family photos and a sacred power object to add to the installation/altar.

A reminder: 5Rhythms® workshops are a drug and alcohol free event.

Scents: Whenever we gather together to dance, we are bound to have people in our group who are highly sensitive to fragrances, including essential oils and strongly scented flowers.

The consequences of these sensitivities are often symptoms like headache, fatigue, dizziness, irritability, foggy thinking as well as asthma, migraines and other allergic reactions.

If you would please leave the perfumes, colognes, and aftershaves at home and be mindful of your soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and scented fabric softeners, it would be greatly appreciated.

Location: The Auditorium at CLARA

This event is at our community dancing home base, The Auditorium at Clara 1425 24th Street.  We love it here and welcome you to this beautiful 1916 brick hall.  Enter the parking lot from 25th Street between N and O Streets.  Parking is $5 per day. You can also park on the street for free, just be aware of signs and timing.  The entrance to the large auditorium is on either the west or east side. Look for our 5R sandwich board by the door.

COVID:

Please be 100% free of any symptoms. Do not come if you are sick. As a service to the community and yourself, please take a COVID test before you begin your travels and Wednesday morning. If you have ANY symptoms during the workshop, please talk to Majica right away.
