Cycles
with Laura Martin-Eagle
September 10-14, 2025
I have always been drawn to the stories, artwork and holy scriptures describing the mystical wheel of life and death. I’ve paid attention to my inner stories, dreams and memories of lifetime after lifetime within my bones and have noticed how much of our struggles are carried generation to generation veiled as our own personal wounds.
Embodying our ancestral legacy in CYCLES invites us to celebrate what enriches our soul while releasing with compassion what no longer serves.
Dancing in the chaotic soup of our ancestors: their prayers, their lies, their secrets, their joys- we can emerge with the lightness of clarity that sheds the ancient ties that hold us back and create the space for both freedom and mystery to ignite our present moment.
I am honored to hold the Cycles map as we dance with the mysteries of this wild wheel of life!
"Life is a journey. Its route is essentially the same for everyone, even though we start in different settings and with different baggage." -- Gabrielle Roth
In this Cycles workshop we unlock the trunks that hold our memories, our ancestor’s dreams, the beliefs and disbeliefs of those that walked before us be it in our blood or in our home. From our conception to our death, we will sort through the mysteries within our trunks of treasures to meet with grounded bodies, tended hearts and open minds, what may have been stored and hidden for generations.
Prerequisite: A 3-day 5Rhythms® Heartbeat workshop is required prior to attendance.
All workshop hours contribute to 5Rhythms® Teacher Training prerequisites.

Laura Martin-Eagle has been studying, performing and teaching various dance forms for over 50 years. She is a certified teacher of 5Rhythms® Waves level (2001) and Heartbeat (2010) and Cycles (2025).
I have danced as long as I can remember.
I had to learn to read before my mother would let me take ballet class, so I learned to read when I was 4. Only when I danced did I feel at home in this body, in this life.
Many years without dancing, I came back to it when entering University. The love of dance was quickly rekindled as I spent many years dancing at school and studying Dance Therapy with legends such as Marian Chace and Trudy Shoop. After the birth of my first child, I continued dancing and performing locally and nationally with Roger Shimomura and Marsha Paludan. I studied Contact Improvisation with visiting teachers Julyen Hamilton and Kirsti Simpson in the early ‘80s. While in California I studied Kathak Classical Indian dance with the master Chitresh Das who brought this form to the US.
I love all these forms of classical and modern dance and was very excited when I discovered 5Rhythms in the late 90’s that encouraged me to find my own dance. I trained with Gabrielle Roth and was certified in 2001 to teach the Waves level, and in 2010 to teach the Heartbeat level of 5Rhythms. I have taught for the last 20+ years locally, nationally and internationally.
