Hey There Teachers!

From August 18th to 20th, we're hosting a dedicated 5Rhythms teachers gathering in the serene surroundings of Sacramento. This gathering has so much promise for being a rejuvenating and enriching journey that allows you to:

 

• Deepen Your Practice: explore new depths, nuances, creative expression in your own practice.

• Expand Your Teaching Skills: share your experiences, learn from fellow teachers, enhance and refine your ability to guide others on their 5Rhythms journey.

• Engage in Community Building: connect, collaborate, form lasting bonds with teachers from around the globe.

• Recharge Your Spirit: replenish your energy, reignite your dance passion.

• Inspire Creativity: immerse in a visionary environment, spark ideas for your own classes.

• Relax and Have Fun: Lastly, don't forget about unwinding at Majica or Bella's home, share cooking and meals, dip in the hot tub….relish the company of like-hearted souls.

 

This is our third go round gathering teachers in the amazing space in which we teach here in Sacramento. We have some notions about what worked and what didn’t.  Some of what we long to create this time emerged from our shared experience at the recent refresh.  And we want to leave enough empty space for the mystery to emerge.  This communication lets you take a peek at the tentative scaffolding currently in the dream state.  Three days/ five rhythms/ five sessions.  We welcome your insights, your desires, your misgivings, absolutely your whatevers.  If you have a strong YES to offer warm up or teach in the six open slots, let us know.

 

Friday August 18

 

10:00-12:00  FLOW    Two Teachers: Majica & Bella  

Welcoming warm up wave leading to an exploration of the big picture of belonging.  

Who am I—lineage, gender, color, size, age, etc—and how does that affect how I hold the space?  No DEIB experts here….just totally willing to open to the question and see what emerges.

 

12:00-1:00 Soul Shares     

Each participant has an allotted time to share whatever is arising for them and then articulate what they need for support in the current moment.

 

1:00-2:00  BYO lunch on site

 

2:00-4:00  STACCATO

One person to provide the music-only warm up, the other to teach the practice in any way that inspires.

 

4:00-5:00  Soul Shares 

 

5:00-?  Adjourn to Bella’s for group potluck feast creation, laughter and tears, hot tubbing.

 

Saturday August 19

 

9:00-10:00 (optional)  Roll & Release with Bella

Totally casual opportunity to dive into myofascial release with some informal expert guidance. All props provided.

 

10:00-12:00  CHAOS     

NEED: Two Teachers…let us know if you are interested!

One person to provide the music-only warm up, the other to teach the practice in any way that inspires.

 

12:00-1:00  Soul Shares if we are not complete….open to other topics for small group sharing if everyone has had a turn.

 

1:00-2:00  BYO lunch on site

 

2:00-4:00  LYRICAL  Round Robin: one theme, one DJ, multiple teachers   

NEED: Music Person & Multiple Teachers for single exercise instruction. 

One person doing a wave (is this you?) to support the teachings.  Names in a bowl drawn in the moment for teaching any of the varied components that might be incorporated in a wave.  Think the rhythms PLUS connection, repetition, tribal, across the floor, etc.  Edgy, spontaneous, a blending of all our voices….lyrical!

This is all incredibly tentative and fluid.  We want to hear from you!  And really, whether you yearn for personal growth, seek new inspiration or long to connect with fellow teachers, this gathering offers something for everyone. Remember, you don't have to lead a wave to participate – your presence, support, camaraderie are needed in the mix.

Spots are limited, especially for those wishing to take advantage of the convenient co-housing opportunity in our homes.  We have some beds, plenty of floor space and yards that love tents.  The two homes and venue are all within a two mile radius and the Natural Foods Coop is smack dab in the middle of that triangle.  So easy.

Longing to dance deep?  That's why we’re calling you in, 

visioning hours of moving together in the best of company...soul rabble-rousers who hold communities for this radical shape-shifting practice.  We gathered in Sacramento 2017 & 2019 a beautiful co-creative three days.  

Now we are feeling this urge to call you in again to 2023.

 

Ideal space (reasonable cost & gorgeous) is rented August 18-20 and Sacramento is an easy destination. We’ll do our best to house you.  We had a sweet residential co-housing situation at Bella’s close-to-venue home for the first twelve people who enrolled in 2017.  She’s totally willing/excited to offer that again this year. And Majica can host 6-8 as well. 

 

Three full days to dance deep, to be teachers and students together.  We welcome your input to our current dream in evolution: time to drop deeply into our dance held by teachers offering a balance of teaching waves and music-only waves.  Daily group sharing about our teaching practice.  Plenty of down time at Bella’s home for the big whatever, including hot tubbing.  

 

If you wish to offer only your presence and camaraderie, so be it.  If you want the opportunity to offer a teaching wave or a music-only wave, email majicasonrisa@gmail.com.  We'll send you further information.  Our wish is that we return home well-danced and inspired by the basic elements that make this such a potent practice.  

 

Precious dedicated time to move together, nourish and support one another, learn from each other…love each other up...let's do it.

Attendance does not count toward refresh hours.

 

Cost? $195 for three days.  

Value? Priceless.  

 

And yes that part was true: first 18 beauties to sign up have space to sleep in Bella or Majica's home for the duration.
